Since last time I was here we returned to Florida from Kentucky and we've just been chillin'. It's always hard after visiting Kentucky because it leaves us feelin' extra homesick. Something that helps me with missing my family is called Skype. You probably are familiar with it but just in case, Skype is a video communication program. All you need is a webcam and of course the internets. Nanny, Papaw, YaYa, Grandaddy, Aunt Kate, Gigi & Ted, Jenn and Jake, Aunt Nancy....they all use it. So everyday we chat them up. If you haven't all ready I think you should give it a try.

Cocoa Beach

The fam went to Cocoa Beach yesterday, and the weather was perfect for an afternoon in the sun. My buddy Cale told me his favorite beach spot and we met up there with his Mommy and Daddy. Cale and I compared our sand shovels and tossed around his soccer ball for a bit. Being a lil man is a very busy thing 'cause there's lotsa stuffs to do all the time. So both us guys got wore out before too long and headed back home. It's nice to have the beach close, and new friends to share it with.

Today some friends and I went to the Metro Orlando Gymnasium for some tumble time. The nice instructors showed us how to do somersaults, cartwheels and other gymnast stuffs. But instead of paying attention to their suggestions I did my own thing and explored all around that place. There were trampolines, big cushy mats for jumping in, and a big pit of foam blocks.

Sorry it's been so long since an update. I'm gonna post some pics really quick from my recent trip to Kentucky. I went to visit five out of six grandparents and to celebrate my cousin Lauren's birthday, ('cept my paparazzi weren't able to go to Lauren's birthday party so there aren't any pictures). Here I am playing soccer with my good friend Sydney and out on the farm with Grandaddy and Churchill. The first picture I'm relaxin' in a very special chair. It belonged to my Papaw Max when he was a little guy like me. Papaw re-upholstered it for me & Lauren just before we were born. I LOVE sitting in it. It's just my size. Now I'm back in Florida and I'm off to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with some friends!

Showcase of Citrus

Mom and I went to the Showcase of Citrus in Clermont this afternoon to meet up with some friends, 'cept we're always late 'cause we always get lost and the friends were gone. But that's OK, Mom and I like to adventure on our own just as much. I got a wagon that was just my size and Mom pulled me through the groves. We picked Ruby Red Grapefruit, Valencia Oranges and some yummy Tangerines. There were rows and rows of citrus trees and honeysuckle and bumble bees and birds nests and lotsa neat nature stuff. One thing about fruit is that there's lotsa rules to eating it. Some fruit skins you can eat and some you can't? Citrus fruit doesn't have the skin you can eat. You can sure try though.

Hi everybody! I'm not feelin' so good....and Mommy is kinda sicky too, so today Dad is at home taking care of us. We've just been laying around being puny for a couple days. I don't think I'm going to go to Jake's this weekend 'cause my nose keeps runnin' and Mom's coughin' all over the place. But Dad promised that the Easter Bunny will find me just fine. Nanny Barb sent me a huge Easter package with lotsa fun stuff inside and chocolate that Mom and Dad all ready ate. Anyways, I don't really have anything exciting to report except that I miss you very much and feel very sneezy. Lots and lotsa loves to everybody!

Adventure with Jakey

We met up with Jakey and his crew today at Downtown Disney. We had some delicious lunch and ran wild for a bit like little boys do.Jakey talked me into riding the Merry-Go-Round...'Cept that thing is a very Scary-Go-Round!Even though the carousel freaked me right out, I had lotsa fun with Jakey, as always. We saw Donald Duck & Daisy Duck, and made plans for Easter... I think I'm gonna go to Jakey's house, Aunt Beth says the Easter Bunny definitely visits them, and I don't wanna risk missing him 'cause we're in a different home than last year. So...yay! I'll be seeing Jakey again super soon. Yippee!

Mom and I went to the Splash Pads this mornin' and did lotsa splashin' and later on in the afternoon I stretched out on my couch and took a nice, long nap with Baby. Mom and I took a trip to meet up with Dad 'cause he's working in Ft. Myers over the weekend. This morning Mom took me to Sanibel Island, which is a favorite place deep inside her heart. I played contently in the white sands and shells and felt quite peaceful. That bit of ocean is the most welcoming I've met; Mom took my hand and together we ventured far out into the waters.

First Baseball Game

Today Kate and Mom took me to my very first baseball game! Uncle Andy got us tickets to watch his team, the New York Mets, play the Atlanta Braves. The game was at Disney Wide World of Sports. Kate gave me a frozen lemonade and it really helped keep me cool 'cause the sun was super hot. I wore my Mets hat that Kate brought for me and I cheered on my team and my Andy. We started to sunburn and get really sweaty so we left a lil' early but oh my gosh it was amazing. I love baseball and wanna be a baseball player when I grow up by the way. Mom and Kate agree that baseball is a very good sport for me, and it won't be long before I'm playing too.

I haven't been to the Splash Pads since I started walking and so it was fun wandering around exploring the fountains. 'Cept you gotta be on your toes 'cause those fountains will sneak up and surprise splash you right in the face.

Discovery Launch

Dad had the fantastic idea to go to the Space Coast and watch the space shuttle Discovery launch. (My aunt/god-mother Kate is visiting by the way and we're gonna be doing some serious adventuring over the next few days, so be sure to stay tuned). OK so we went to Titusville and ate some delicious sea food and then explored onward to Space View Park. Space View Park lines up precisely to the view of Kennedy Space Center, which is on a causeway 12 miles off the coast. There are monuments along the way dedicated to astronauts and I measured my hand prints to theirs, and those astronaut hand prints sure seemed small! Five minutes after sunset, the space shuttle Discovery launched high into the sky and Dad and I watched from the lawn. I sat wide-eyed taking it all in; People say that's a once in a lifetime thing. I'm a very lucky little guy.

Silks Unlimited

My great-grandmother, Tishie, owns a business called Silks Unlimited. They make racing silks, saddle towels, and other related thoroughbred racing apparel, and most jockeys wear racing silks that have been made by Tishie's team. It was great visiting with Tish and aunt Adele and looking at all the bright colors and tradition at Silks Unlimited. All though I think I'm gonna be too big to be a jockey.

First Hair Cut

Mom and I decided, (against the consensus....thanks everyone for voting), to go ahead and get a hair cut. Even though most of you were fans of my mullet/rat tail/Kentucky waterfall, it was time for it to go. So we went to my aunt Bunny's salon and she gave both of us fantastic new styles. I sat VERY still for my trim, and I have since gotten lotsa compliments on my haircut. Thanks Bunny! I love you!

Wild Aire

As you may or may not know, I'm an apprentice thoroughbred racehorse trainer. My Yaya and Grandaddy, (Mom's parents) both do the same on their farm in Kentucky, Wild Aire. I've been learning how to train since before I could even hold my head up AND I even have my own farm truck that Yaya lets me drive. That makes Mom nervous, and she calls Yaya 'Britney Spears' 'cause she says that's some other lady that drives around with her babies in her lap. Anyways I do lotsa chores like making sure the water is OK for splashing before the horses go to drink. I also oversee the farrier. He does a pretty good job, but I make sure to very closely inspect his method 'cause I know personally that everyone needs special shoes to fit their special feet.

Sunshine and Laughs

My cousin Lauren, (I call her 'TT' 'cause her middle name is Taylor), and I love to run around on Nanny and Papaw's back porch. We've been hanging out there together since we were just lil' babies. We have a pool in the summer for splashin' around, and lotsa times the whole family comes over and Papaw cooks on his antique grill. The sun shines down and we dig in the plants and climb on the swings. TT likes to sing into the upside down chair 'cause to her its really a microphone. Its all lotsa fun 'til Mom gets all bossy and puts me in time-out for pullin' TT's ponytail or swingin' at her, (see last photo, I'm just almost about to go to time-out). I'm just playing though.....but 'playing too rough,' Mom says. Geeeeez, women are sooooo sensitive.

Downtown Disney

Mom and I went exploring around Downtown Disney and met up with some friends. The best part of Downtown Disney is they have fountains for babies. Well, the fountains are for everyone I guess, 'cept babies like me can run around in them. The first time I saw the water shoot out of the ground I turned around, ran to Mom, and told her all about what I'd just saw! It was so exciting! I love playing in water! So here I am telling Mom about the fountains, and then again with my friend Jared running around in them. On our Downtown Disney exploration Mom also got me my first set of Star Wars toys which I'll show you later.

Mommy can't read it very well 'cause it always makes her weepy. So Nut-Nut read it to me. Then I read it to him. And so on and so on.

Chuck E. Cheese

Today one of my playgroups went to get wild at Chuck E. Cheese's. Its a place where this big mouse lives, and he's in a band that sings 80's songs. There's lotsa rides there, and also games and slides. I didn't much like the rides, I'm not so sure about them yet, they're very bumpy and loud... After exploring all over that place my friends and I had yummy cheese pizza for lunch.

But lemme tell you, Chuck E. Cheese freaked me right out. When he came out to shake my hand I was really very terrified. He's a VERY HUGE mouse with a big frightening tooth sticking out at you. I hope I get invited back to his place, even though I cried loudly at him and that probably hurt his feelings.

FYI, the phone at Chuck E.'s house is broken! I tried to call Dad for girl advice because my friend Christina kept sneaking kisses 'cept the phone never rang through!

I'm not sure how long they've been married, but Mom says since today around maybe 20 years ago. Yaya and Grandaddy said "We Do" one evening at the McElveen's house by calling a 24 hour minister they chose from the yellow pages. Their wedding polaroids show the happy bride and groom in denim, wedding guests wearing spandex, discount Valentine's Day roses, and an indoor pet goat named 'Pearl.' I hope Yaya and Grandaddy are married forever and ever. Amen.

Today is Valentine's Day and so Daddy made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, and also my very favorite, BACON! Mom built some forts and tunnels out of coverlets and we've been hanging out in them this morning. She told me that she and Aunt Mears used to do the very same on saturday mornings at Hard Boot Farm. They also liked to hide under the peach corduroy television tablecloth . Mom says Tishie has a play room, but it was haunted with weirdness so Mears and Mom never hung out there too much. Instead Mom and Mears built their own play spaces out of quilts, twin beds, the chaise, and exchanges of secrets.

So anyways we gave Dad his cards and gifts; I got him a bonsai tree kit and also a picture frame with some pictures of me in it, of course. Dad and I got Mom a dozen beautiful roses, all different colors. I helped him choose those.

I hope your Valentine's Day is filled with lotsa huggies, kissies, snuggies, heart shaped pancakes, maple syrup bacon, and remembrances of special times with dear sweet loved ones.

Catching Up

OK. So, it's been a little while since I've been able to write. First of all, Mom and I wore red on Friday in recognition of the fight against Heart Disease in Women. It is the number one killer of women in the United States.

This weekend we spent in Miami, of course. Jakey was baptized Sunday and we went to his friendly church and celebrated with lunch and champagne afterwards at his house. I met Papaw's cousins Elly and Tommy that I have heard of before, and they are very, very nice.

Jakey and I spent time going down his slide and cooking breakfast in his Sesame Street kitchen. He is very good at letting me play with all his things whereas I still have a lot to learn about sharing. Jakey also gave me a life-sized stuffed alligator, he has one too, and so we wrestled those gators together. Now that we're home my alligator likes to lie beneath my crib in the shade, looking out for me as I sleep. Anyhow here's a picture of Jakey getting baptized and also a pic of me after my baptism. I told Jakey about how I looked very much like the Pillsbury Dough Boy in my baptism suit, but its hard to get the full effect without seeing a photograph.

Speaking of baptism, my godfather is coming through to visit this week. Marky is on a fishing trip from Kentucky. He's in Daytona now, will be in Cocoa tomorrow, then I hope he'll be coming to our condo tomorrow night. We're all three so so so excited to see him!

Anyways we're going to Miami tomorrow to spend the night with Jakey and be with his family; He's getting baptized on Sunday. He definitely thinks Mom did it and lets just leave it at that.

I LOVE getting mail. Today was SUPER 'cause there were three things for me! I got an invitation from Jake asking me to come to his baptism this weekend in Miami. We're going and are so excited! Anyways Jake's Mom made the invitations herself and matching stamps that are lil' pictures of Jakey!

Yaya sent me some Lilly Pulitzer swim trunks, and I don't know who Lilly is, but Mom says Lilly is her favorite. YaYa sent a handsome dress shirt along with the trunks but I hope she doesn't expect me to wear them together. That would be what Mom calls a 'Daddy B Outfit.' Daddy B was Gigi and Grandaddy's dad, and from what I hear he sometimes wore plaid plants and striped shirts together and such. Mom says he had an excellent sense of style that became exaggerated in his later years. All though his ensembles didn't necesarrily match, he was adamant about his wardobe decisions. Anyhow Daddy B sounds like a very wonderful person and I'm disappointed to never know him. His spirit lives on in places like YaYa and Grandaddy's farm: Wild Aire; also in the companionship men find with their dogs, sounds of crunching ice after an afternoon cocktail, silence in an empty cathedral, vanilla ice cream with butterscoth syrup, and mismatched plaid outfits.

I've adopted a new face to make when the paparazzi are bothering me. I'm photographed every day and sometimes I just don't feel like having my picture taken. For example, I was trying to watch the Superbowl in peace with Dad and Mom kept taking picture after picture. SO BOTHERSOME. This picture demonstrates the pre-'Snarl.' The photog was quicker than I and my grouchy face wasn't fully in action. Below you can see the 'Snarl' in full effect.Now here's a sweet cute face for you. Ouch. Stumbles-N-Bumps Entry #1

Every morning Maxi gets in bed with his Mom and Dad and climbs all over the place. He LOVES to get the day started by getting wild in the morning. This morning I was called to duty when he wacked his head on the wall. He said he was standing up to jump around and he turned and jumped RIGHT INTO THE WALL. WOW, what a big knot he has! I came to his aide as best I could and the knot doesn't look as bad as it did earlier. Poor buddy. Don't feel too bad for him though, he'll be bouncing all over the bed tomorrow morning like nothing ever happened.

Hand Prints

I just got home from Tiny Toes, one of two playgroups I belong to. We met at the park, painted our palms, and put hand prints on each other's tee-shirts. I didn't feel like putting my hand flat and so lots of my friends' tee shirts have smudgy smeary hand prints from me. I think that looked cooler anyways. I also tried out the big boy swings and I wasn't too sure about those either. You actually HAVE to hold on the ENTIRE time you are sitting in those and I'm not really into that. I feel like one shouldn't have to focus on safety details when engaging in leisure activities. I'm gonna stick to the my-size swings for now.

New Stuff!

Dad, Mom and I want to let everyone know that we LOVE staying in touch via my blog. It makes us happy to know you are sharing in my day. As I explore my new world I am inspired to ask questions, point out interesting stuff, and chit-chat with new friends. I talk about you lots and look forward to sharing stories and thoughts each and every day.

With that being said, I'm excited about two new sections I'm adding to my blog. The first, 'Stumbles-N-Bumps,' will discuss my frequent ouchies and scrapes. Now that I'm walking I have become a fearless stunt-double-in-training. I'm still learning about balance and falling gracefully, and Mom is working on not gasping dramatically. 'Stumbles-N-Bumps' will be narrated by my trusty Nemo ice pack who is always there to soothe my sore spots after those big-time tumbles.

The second section is still in the works. I have the concept down but I also have writer's block and I don't know what to call it. These new sections will be featured in reoccuring blog entries with buttons on the right of the page linking directly to their archives.

Turkey Lake

Today we did more exploring! We went to Turkey Lake Park which is just across the way from our condo and fooled around on the jungle gym, marched down the pier, and hunted alligators. There were lotsa people there as well as lotsa bugs. Turkey Lake park's playground isn't my favorite because there isn't a swing set. What sort of playground doesn't have a swing set? Not any sort where I'd spend much time. Anyhow, it was fun with Mom and Dad. 'Cept Mom is always trying to hold my hand and boss me about where not to walk. It's SO bothersome. I'm a big boy and I like going where I want to go on my own! Its called being "independent."

Dad, Mom and I went to Universal Studios City Walk this afternoon and walked the loop. We ended up at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. Mom and Dad drank frozen margaritas and I had some of my favorite orange-tangerine juice. It was a relaxing afternoon spent people watching and of course exploring.

Big Fish

Papaw, Mom and I went to Disney Land today. We didn't go to the park but instead the Shades Of Green Resort. The Shades of Green Resort is for retired and active military, and it is there that they can get free Disney tickets and discounted tickets for family. Of course we explored around, 'cause exploring is my favorite thing to do. I found a fish pond outside with the biggest fish I have ever seen. They must snack a lot, all day long or something.

Just Hangin' Out

Mom and I haven't done much the past couple days. Today I took her to the doctor because her back is hurting. It turns out she has an inflamed muscle from picking me up. The doctor told her to lift with her knees, whatever that means. It's also chilly here and because I have a runny nose and sneezles we haven't been going to the playground. Mom and I are working on taping off her bedroom wall so we can paint a graphic mural of birch trees. But that's about it. Papaw is coming back through tomorrow, and we are excited to see him again. I'm posting some pics of my room for my family that haven't been able to visit yet.

My Papaw just left for the next part of his adventure. He's going down to Miami to stay with family and then onto Key West to get wild with some friends. He'll be back to stay with us next weekend on his return to Kentucky. I was sad to see Papaw go so I gave him big snuggles on his way out.

Today was fantastic.We had lunch with family vacationing at Disney. We all enjoyed the sunny weather and played outside. My distant cousin Jake is only 4 months older than I am; Jake and I explored EVERYWHERE. We climbed on the jungle gyms and played tetherball on the dock.

I hope to see Jake and his family again soon. They are all very nice and we had a great time hanging out.

Big Day

Today was a big day with some favorite visitors. My Papaw came all the way from Kentucky to bring presents and other things that I left behind during Christmas. He drove his truck down with his motorcycle on a trailor. Papaw is staying with us a couple days and then he is going to ride his motorcycle down to Miami to visit other family and friends.

Nanny's not here though. I kept asking for her, because I thought Papaw would bring her. I wanted some snuggles and Mom was busy and I kept saying "Nanny, Nanny, Nanny..." When they explained to me that Papaw came by himself I wasn't very happy. I've actually been pretty grouchy every since then.

Dad's best friend from high school also came by to visit. Murph is our only friend that lives in Florida and this is the second time that he has come to our house. Last time Dad and Murph went to the UK/Florida football game and I got left behind at home with Mom....hopefully that never happens again. Today we spent the afternoon visiting and playing with my Christmas toys.

My day improved when I discovered that I got packages in the mail, which is always so exciting. Yaya sent me some clothes and also this aquarium collage that she handmade for me. Yaya knows how much I love fishies. I can't figure out how the fishies are floating like this, like they're really in water. Its so neat. Thanks, Yaya!

This Is Not Good

I woke up this morning to find some immobilizing shenanigans blocking the entrance to my kitchen. I'm not quite sure the meaning of this obstruction, but I know one thing: I don't like it. I'm trying to convince Mom with my very-sad-face that this roadblock hurts my feelings. It doesn't seem to be working; It appears she LIKES being in the kitchen without the floor littered with dirty dishes I have saved from the dishwasher. How can this be? If I can't manipulate her with my gorgeous face I'll have to find some other way around this domestic Berlin Wall. No doubt my attempts will be merciless.
